CHARACTER INFO

NAME: Flamebringer.
SERIES: Arknights.
CANON POINT: End of Chapter 10.
AGE: Unknown, appears to be late 20’s.

CHARACTER SUMMARY:

Flamebringer is a wandering swordsman; he has acted as a mercenary for a multitude of people and organizations. However, he doesn’t really care about what cause they’re fighting for; he merely wants to fight against strong opponents. It may have to be related to being battle-hungry, but also is that he’s a Sarkaz. His race values death more than others, believing it to be the fitting and only end that he’s deserving. And while he is incredibly edgy in a lot of what he says and how he acts; he isn’t that hotheaded. An Operator destroyed the greenhouse that he was spending time tending as a hobby; he did not lash out in anger or try to kill them. He was bitterly upset, however, but knows when and where he should fight. So, kind of crude and blunt, he does have his own set of morals and is relatively honorable.

POWERS:

Empathetic bond. Like the Sankta, Sarkaz have an empathetic bond with their King and also can sense when someone close to them has died. Their King is able to manipulate their emotions in order to ease all bloodlust and tension that they might feel. More for flavor since on Kenos, he’ll probably find it fascinating to be able to feel the emotions of others like the Sankta do. But if anyone happens to die that he’s got a deep enough connection with, he’ll feel it if they’re on the same island.

Fire manipulation and creation. Using his Arts’ ability, he can generate and manipulate fire. He causes it to burst across his body and coat his blade; he’s able to ensure that the flame isn’t able to melt or burn his own body, but harm his enemies. Also, he doesn’t have the same firepower as say someone who is a Caster; he isn’t able to burn down a building, for example.

Regeneration. While he does take damage, he is also able to heal from that damage - so long as he is cutting into his enemy (or someone dying around him). Essentially, he draws on their life to recover from whatever he’s suffering from. Furthermore, for every enemy that he kills, he can draw from their life and enhance his overall health and beefiness. This is not a permanent buff, however, and will fade as soon as the battle ends. Limitations: While he’s able to heal from damaging another, it isn’t enough to bring him back to full health, as it were. And the more injured that he is, the harder it would be to recover from what’s been done.

Superhuman capabilities. These would be what were discussed he is capable of doing in his introduction sub-story. Even though he was outnumbered and a few of the enemies were Casters, Flamebringer still was able to deal with them without too much issue. Limitations: Much more concerned with stamina and exhaustion; the burst of energy that he has to launch his attacks eventually slows down and has to rest.

Oripathy. Dunno if this can be classified as a power, but he does have oripathy. He can draw from the rocks that are formed in his blood and body in order to make his Arts that much more powerful. Also, if he were to die, his body would spontaneously combust and infect a wide range of people with the same disease that he has. For just the sake of everything, it’ll be said that his illness has been halted; it won’t get any better but it also won’t get any worse.

ASPECTS:

Exalt. What is known about how the Doctor used to be, they were incredibly selfish and self-serving. They would sacrifice anyone that they deemed necessary for “victory.” Flamebringer is said to have been with the original Rhodes Island. His team and he were sacrificed for that end, sent on a suicide mission to route the enemy; he is the only one that survived. Yet he is back serving Rhodes Island and willing to die for them, again – specifically because the Doctor is back to being the one leading everyone.

His connection to Rhodes Island is more due to the Doctor than really considering their cause to be one that he wants to be part of, honestly. He doesn’t like fights that seem to be in vain and has yet to meet an enemy that he wants to throw his whole self against. So, he is willing to be the sword of someone else instead.

Stargazer. Rather than a goal or end that he is attempting to achieve, he is instead trying to constantly enhance his own skills and capabilities. It’s been said that he finds the most joy in living on the razor-edge of life, testing out just how far he can take himself. This is what brings him joy and living in any other way would be far too boring for him to consider. Life is essentially considered as fleeting to Flamebringer; he treats everyone relatively the same because of this philosophy. Live to the end without regret; and doesn’t mean that he doesn’t regret things but rather that he intends to give up all his burdens upon death. Flamebringer doesn’t want to be the kind of person that bemoans things to the end, but says that he did as much as he could and died on the battlefield.

ANTICIPATED FACTION:

MERIDIAN. But it isn’t because of the “normal” reasons. Like, it’s already been said that he acknowledges how finite life is for himself and everyone. He has sentimentality for some things, but for a lot others, he is incredibly cold and distant. His mentality and morals would fit more with Zenith, but he is still loyal to the Doctor. The Doctor would want to save their world and bring it back from the brink of oblivion. He will join Meridian in order to fulfill the “order” that he knows he would be given.

SUITABILITY:

Arknights is a setting of sad animal anime girls in the snow. Only it also deals with mysterious rock-disease racism, racism, capitalism, class discrimination, and a wide-variety of other topics. Flamebringer will be pretty chill about most things since he has experienced most terrible things just on the virtue of being a Sarkaz and Infected. Yet, as has been said before, he just never found any reason to get upset about the manner in which he is discriminated against because of his race or disease. He didn’t even want to be treated until the Doctor really pressed him but since he’s waited so long to be treated, it’s uncertain if it would’ve done any good.

Anyway, he’ll be fine.
