[ ...Ah. so this warrior is ready to find someone that can take his life. Any warrior would also know that the only good place to die is in thrilling combat and finding your match that manages to outdo you and bring you down. For Flamebringer, a "good place to die" is not than likely the same as Childe searching for the individual that is worthy of taking his life— Flamebringer may be towards his end and Childe not all that far from his beginning both in age and point of view (afterall, once Childe decides who the person worthy of killing him is that doesn't mean he'll simply accept that to be his last battle. Part of being worthy is to outdo him despite his tenacity to live,) but Childe gets the sense it's pretty similar in the end. Most people probably wouldn't understand.
The fact that Flamebringer is disappointed by the fact he can't die here also means that he's probably gone through countless battles of life and death, killing instead of dying because he's just better at the first and his opponents instead the latter.
Huh! How did this Meridian go under his radar? Has he been here that long, and Childe has never realized it?
In the mindscape, Childe seems to stare at the other with wide lackluster eyes, a sense of realization and familiarity resonating in them.
—and then he blinks, seeming to come back to what's actually going on between them, and Childe doesn't shy away from the touch beyond the slightest lift of his chin as if reaffirming he is clearly comfortable about this encounter and the invitation he extended that has been accepted. ]
Tartaglia. But most people call me Childe. [ Clearly he doesn't care what the other calls him, judging by the way he's very interested in just 'observing' what he can of the other in the mindscape instead of future speaking.
( Amazing, but maybe he's getting overly excited and letting his hopes soar. Zhongli still won't indulge him, but he thinks this person could potentially ease that for Childe.
It doesn't hurt that Flamebringer ticks all his boxes, too, now that he thinks about it. The only thing left is to confirm it in person—) ]
